Love in Action

Romans 12:9–13

We are called to a high standard of love.

1. We Are to Have Sincere Love

Paul strips away superficial love—love that wears a mask.

The Greek word here means “without hypocrisy.”

Love is a fruit of the Spirit, and the Holy Spirit doesn’t produce a counterfeit love.

Do we love others for our own benefit, or do we love them because Jesus loves them and has called us to love them?

True love calls us to go into the messy places—to love people where they are.

2. Passion for God: Fire Fueled by the Holy Spirit

The world should see our passion and enthusiasm for what God has called us to.

It should boil over from our lives—an overflow of holy passion.

When we are on fire for God, it ignites those around us.

3. We Are Called to Serve Others

We’d often rather be served than serve, but God has called us to be servants.

Love calls us to serve others with humility and compassion.

The early church modeled this—living in true community, sharing, and caring for one another.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just anoint us to speak in tongues—He also anoints us to wash feet.

Summary (Meta Description):
Romans 12:9–13 challenges believers to live out genuine, Spirit-fueled love—free of hypocrisy, overflowing with passion for God, and expressed through humble service to others.
