Theme: It’s Time to Stop Circling the Mountain
Life is full of tough decisions. Spiritually, many of us end up going around and around the same mountain—the same habits, fears, and patterns. At some point, we need enough of God in us that we’re willing to shift, obey, and move forward.
The wilderness is not a place we want to go, but it’s often the place where God speaks to us the most.
1. The Red Sea – A Place of Liberation
- The Red Sea represents a moment of freedom and breakthrough, when God brings us out of what held us captive.
- Many of us never experience true liberation because we refuse to let go of what God is clearly asking us to release.
- It’s okay to ask God questions—but when He answers, obedience is not optional.
- God leads us out, but we have to be willing to walk away from the things that keep pulling us back.
2. Seir – A Place of Being Closed Off
- Seir is a picture of being surrounded by mountains, closed in and stuck.
- These “mountains” can be mindsets, wounds, fear, bitterness, or simple comfort that keeps us from who God created us to be.
- We can’t keep circling the same mountain and expect a different outcome.
- At some point, we have to say,
“I’m done with this pattern so God can move in my life.”
3. Northward – The Hidden Things
- When God tells His people to move “northward,” it represents a new direction—toward the things we can’t yet see or control.
- Northward is where the hidden things are: the plans of God, the next step, the growth we’ve been praying for.
- As we begin to trust God, things start to shift—internally before externally.
- The invitation is to stop circling, start listening, and take the step He’s putting in front of us.

What is God speaking this morning?
Is there a Red Sea you’re afraid to cross, a Seir you’ve been circling too long, or a “northward” step you’ve been resisting?
God is not trying to trap you in the wilderness—
He’s calling you through it into freedom, purpose, and deeper trust in Him.
